As a hematologist and Director of HTC – LOF, I would like to share my journey.
I established Lab One Foundation in 2002 with the aim of providing treatment for patients with blood disorders. To ensure proper care for individuals with hemophilia, I later launched a Hemophilia Treatment Center – HTC LOF. Since then, I have been continuously working for the betterment of hemophilia patients.
Today is World Hemophilia Day. On this occasion, HTC – LOF organized a comprehensive program bringing together patients, their caregivers, doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals to celebrate the day with the help of Lab One Foundation. The event included free medical consultations, free plasma transfusions, factor support, scientific sessions, and awareness rallies, among various other activities.
As a developing country, providing adequate treatment for hemophilia patients remains a significant challenge. Much of the treatment is still dependent on plasma. However, with the support of humanitarian aid from the World Federation of Hemophilia, regular access to clotting factors has made treatment more manageable. Although the supply is still insufficient compared to the overall need, this donation plays a vital role in managing critically ill patients. We express our sincere gratitude to the World Federation of Hemophilia for their continuous support.
Since the introduction of the World Bleeding Disorders Registry (WBDR), our HTC clinic has been actively providing patient care through this platform. For patients with inhibitors, access to prophylaxis and treatment with Emicizumab could significantly improve their quality of life and provide them with a better chance to live a healthier and more fulfilling life.
