On behalf of the World Federation of Hemophilia, I am excited to share that the theme for World Hemophilia Day 2026 is “Diagnosis: First step to care.” Right now, it is estimated that more than three-quarters of people living with hemophilia around the world remain undiagnosed. And the challenges are even greater for individuals with von Willebrand disease, rare bleeding disorders, and for women and girls with bleeding disorders. Without a diagnosis, there can be no treatment—and without treatment, quality of life suffers. That’s why diagnosis is the essential first step to care. On April 17, 2026, let’s unite to raise awareness and advocate for stronger diagnostic capabilities around the world.
